Outside — Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-06-28

Welcome to Outside. These terms are a plain-language agreement between you and Outside (a small side project by Ermis Zacharopoulos, Berlin). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. What Outside is

Outside lets you tell friends where you're headed for an outing — a playground, park, café, library, or other spot — and lets friends say they're coming. It's a casual coordination tool, not an emergency, navigation, or safety service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Outside is designed for adults coordinating outings; any details you enter about children are entered by you, the account holder, on their behalf.

3. Your account

4. Acceptable use

To keep Outside friendly, you agree not to:

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the places, broadcasts, photos, and bios you add. By posting them, you grant Outside a licence to store and display that content to the people the app is designed to show it to (you, your friends, and — for landmarks — others browsing the same neighbourhood). Landmarks you contribute remain in the shared catalogue even if you delete your account, without your name attached.

6. Location

Outside only reads your location when you tap "use my location" or view the in-app map. It does not track your location in the background. You're responsible for deciding what to share and with whom.

7. Availability & changes

Outside is provided "as is" and "as available." It's a small project — features may change, break, or be discontinued. We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.

8. No warranty & limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Outside is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

9. Termination

You can stop using Outside and delete your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence still apply.
