Never type a
meal again.

Photograph it, say it, or scan the barcode. SnapCal works out the calories in the background while you eat, and remembers what you had, so logging gets faster every week.

Every calorie app dies of typing.

Search the food, pick the serving, adjust the grams, three times a day, until you quit. SnapCal removes the keyboard entirely. There are three ways in and all of them take seconds.

01 · SHOOT Photograph it

The app opens straight into the camera. One tap logs the meal with the right time and day, then you eat. Put your hand in the shot and it uses that as a ruler for the portion.

02 · SPEAK Or just say it

Hold the button and talk. It transcribes and breaks the meal into items with portions estimated.

"A Greek yogurt with honey and some grapes."
03 · SCAN Or scan the barcode

Packaged food is exact, not estimated. And if no database knows the product, point the camera at the nutrition label and the AI reads it.

It knows the shelf you actually shop from

Most calorie apps are built around American and British supermarkets. Scan something from a Greek shelf and you get a shrug.

17,350 products, on the phone

SnapCal ships with a real catalogue built from the Open Food Facts data export: 1,967 Greek products, Cyprus too, and the 15,000 most-scanned products in the world across 4,570 brands. It lives in the app, so a scan is instant and works with no signal at all, in the supermarket basement where your data does not.

Whatever is not in there gets looked up, and if nobody knows it, the AI reads the label off a photo. Either way the answer is saved to your phone, so your catalogue grows around what you actually buy.

Counts what you burn, not just what you eat

A calorie number means nothing on its own. Connect Strava, Google Health Connect or Oura and the day shows both sides of the ledger.

Balance In, out, and the net

What you ate against what you actually burned, with steps and the running balance. Train hard and the day's line moves up on its own.

Memory The same food, the same number

Recognise a product once and it is yours. Your usual lunch does not cost different calories on Tuesday than it did on Monday, which is what makes the numbers worth trusting.

Journal A diary you want to open

Your meals as a photo journal, big and by the day. Not a spreadsheet.

Shape Stats with actual colour

Calories in against out, a macro breakdown, your weight trend, and a consistency heatmap that makes a good month obvious at a glance.

Fasting A fasting timer on the front page

16:8, 18:6, 20:4 or one meal a day, with a live countdown on the dashboard instead of hidden three taps deep.

Correction "I only ate half"

One big slider takes any entry from 0 to 100% eaten. Items can be edited, removed or added when the AI misses the olive oil.

Coach Someone to ask

A nutrition coach that knows your budget, your goal and what you have eaten today. And a gentle nudge if the day is running hot by noon, once, only if you want it.

Yours Five languages, two themes

English, Ελληνικά, Deutsch, Español and Français, picked up from your phone. Dark or light, your call.

Your food diary is nobody's business

No account. No sign-up. No cloud database. No analytics. Your history lives in a database on your phone and you can export the whole thing whenever you like. Photos go out once to be analysed and are stored nowhere else. We could not sell your data if we wanted to, because we do not have it.

Where it is today

  • Android only for now. iOS when it earns it.
  • Free while it is in the open. Not on the Play Store yet, so you install the file yourself.
  • Sharing a meal or a day makes a proper image card. The feed is on your own device, not a network.
  • Built in the open. The code and the catalogue scripts are on GitHub.

Try it on your next meal
